Catalog Number 2009.030.094
Description Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Milky Johnson of Ravenswood High School and the College of San Mateo who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 21, 2007. Plaque includes image of Johnson and a brief biography: "Followers of San Mateo County prep basketball had not seen the likes of Milky Johnson before. At Ravenswood early in the 1960s and later at CSM and UC-Berkeley, Johnson introduced a style of high-energy point guard play that opened up a whole new world of creativity that awed opponents and audiences alike. His dazzling array of quick, shify moves combined with brilliant ball-handling skills and unreal leaping ability, was probably ahead of its time. He passsed away in 1991."
