Description Portrait Photograph of Cadet A.H. Payson, c. 1868. Sepia photograph mounted behind glass in an oval-shaped copper-colored wooden frame with a brown recessed center border. Head and shoulder portrait of Payson shows him in profile exposing his left side. He has short brown hair that is parted in the middle and curled up above his ear. He is wearing a uniform jacket with large ball-shaped brass buttons connected by "ribbons" of embroidery stitching. Beneath his jacket he is wearing a white collared shirt with the collar folded down; the jacket has no collar.
