Description Plaque commemorating Len Casanova being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 19, 1992. Plaque includes image of Casanova and a brief biography: "Len Casanova got his coaching start at Sequoia High School in Redwood City where he led the Sequoia Cherokees to the Peninsula League football title in 1935. He later coached the Santa Clara University football team to victory in the 1949 Sugar Bowl. At the University of Oregon, his 1957 football team won the Rose Bowl. His Oregon teams also appeared in the 1960 Liberty Bowl and the 1963 Sun Bowl. His collegiate coaching career spanned 21 seasons and included assignments in three East-West Shrine football games, two Hula Bowl contests and an All-American game. At Oregon, the Casanova Athletic Center has been named in his honor."
