Description Plaque commemorating Jim Loscutoff of Palo Alto High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 14, 2011. Plaque includes image of Loscutoff and a brief biography: "For sheer strength and power, there have been few Peninsula besketball players the likes of Jim Loscutoff. He was an intimidating figure on the court late in the 1940's. After graduation from Palo Alto, he ended up at the University of Oregon where he still holds the school record for rebounding in a single game: 32 vs. BYU in 1955. Later, with the Boston Celtics of the NBA, he set a then-rookie rebounding record with 27 retrieves in one game. He became part of seven Celtic championship teams during the club's storied title run that lasted well into the 1960's."
