Description Wedding Ring Quilt, c. 1930s. Cotton quilt with wool batting that is hand pieced and hand quilted. The ground and backing fabric is mint green cotton with scalloped edges. Wedding ring patches interlock in blocks of four across the width and five down the length. The pattern shows four solid blue and white squares where the rings intersect. The rest of the fabric in the rings includes calico prints in blues, pinks, lavenders, browns, yellows, greens, and reds. Silk fabric is also used less frequently than the calico in the design of the rings. Each block is quilted with a four-petaled flower in the center of each ring and a diamond grid in the outer border. A muslin sleeve for hanging is sewn across the top edge on the back side.
