Description Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Plato Yanicks of Hillsdale High School and Menlo-Atherton High School. who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 22, 2004. Plaque includes image of Yanicks and a brief biography: "During the heyday of high school track and field in San Mateo County, Plato Yanicks was one of the key coaches who elevated the sport to fresh heights. He directed programs at Hillsdale and Menlo-Atherton high school for a total of 24 years, beginning in the early 1960s. At the latter school, his last 12 boys' teams were 125-11 in dual meet competition. His dominant girls' teams went 51-2 from 1982-1986. Yanicks coached U.S. Olympian Marilyn King during that productive era."
