Description Plaque commemorating Paul Cayard of Crestmoor High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 5, 2001. Plaque includes image of Cayard and a brief biography: "Paul Cayard is one of the world's leading yachtsmen. A graduate of San Bruno's Crestmoor High School, he has participated in five America's Cup competitions during his illustrious career on the high seas. He skippered the U.S. entry, AmericaOne, in the 2000 America's Cup races. Cayard served as helmsman for Dennis Connor's America's Cup winner. Cayard is the first American to direct a win in the Whitbread Round the World race, a 32,000-mile circumnavigation of the globe."
