Description Drawn Work Table Cover, 1840. Off-white rectangular (cotton?) table cover has a 6" x 6.25" cross-like shape at center within a 9.25" x 9.25" square of drawn thread work. The drawn thread work is composed of a grid showing alternating pinwheels and round wheel shapes. Outside of the drawn thread work square is a border of 0.75" wide fabric. Moving outward is a three stripe border of drawn thread work with similar pinwheel and round wheel motifs. The overall width of the stripes is 2.75" with the center stripe 1.25" wide and the thinner outer stripes 0.5" wide. A 0.125" hemstitch border appears approximately 1.5" in from the outer edge. The hemstitch borders cross over each other at the corners.
