Description Dedication of Burlingame's New Community Center, 1949. Black and white negative of a dedication plaque at Burlingame's new Community Center (now called Burlingame Rec Center) honoring the men and women who gave their lives during WWII. This image shows three unidentified individuals (two men and a woman) looking at a plaque on a brick wall. The woman is holding the cloth that was covering the plaque prior to the unveiling, there is also a ribbon attached to the cloth. The plaque on the brick wall reads, "THE BURLINGAME COMMUNITY CENTER REVERENTLY DEDICATED TO THE MEN AND WOMEN OF BURLINGAME WHO PATRIOTICALLY GAVE THEIR LIVES IN WORLD WAR II THAT WE MIGHT LIVE AND ENJOY THE AMERICAN FREEDOM TYPIFIED IN THIS LIVING MEMORIAL."
