All the wires are metal wire coated in a white plastic. Wire (A) is ten inches long. One side has black and brown scorch marks .75 inch long and .25 inch from the very end. Wire (B) might be two wires joined together. In the center of the wires is a metal tube. The tube is golden in color. A small silver-colored cuff fits around the metal tube. The tube has a smaller gold-colored piece going into it. An additional plastic coating covers both ends of the golden-colored tube and also covers the wires for two inches on either side. Wire (C) has a Duraseal wire splice attached to one end. The nylon wire splice is light blue and transparent. It is a tube which indents twice in near the center. On the interior of the wire splice is a copper alloy ring. The wire's end is stripped of the coating and is sealed on the outside of the metal ring under the coupling plastic. Piece (C) is another light blue Duraseal wire splice. This wire splice narrows at one end to almost a point. The narrow end encloses on a non-coated piece of wire. The part of the wire outside the coupling is slightly bent at the end.

2016.001.045A-D - Raychem Wires and Duraseal Wire Splices, c. 1957-1999. Three fragments of coated wires and two Duraseal wire splices. All the wires are metal wire coated in a white plastic. Wire (A) is ten inches long. One side has black and brown scorch marks .75 inch long and .25 inch from the very end. Wire (B) might be two wires joined together. In the center of the wires is a metal tube. The tube is golden in color. A small silver-colored cuff fits around the metal tube. The tube has a smaller gold-colored piece going into it. An additional plastic coating covers both ends of the golden-colored tube and also covers the wires for two inches on either side. Wire (C) has a Duraseal wire splice attached to one end. The nylon wire splice is light blue and transparent. It is a tube which indents twice in near the center. On the interior of the wire splice is a copper alloy ring. The wire's end is stripped of the coating and is sealed on the outside of the metal ring under the coupling plastic. Piece (C) is another light blue Duraseal wire splice. This wire splice narrows at one end to almost a point. The narrow end encloses on a non-coated piece of wire. The part of the wire outside the coupling is slightly bent at the end.
