The blanket consists of 2 inch columns and rows creating ivory light blue and dark blue 2in. x 2in. squares. there are 20 columns of blue and 19 columns of ivory going horizontally from side to side and traveling vertically from top to bottom there are 9 rows of blue and 11 rows of ivory. On the right side approximately 11.5in. from the edge there is a hand-stitched seam running all the way from the bottom to the top which connects two columns of ivory disrupting the pattern of every other: blue, ivory, blue, ivory. etc.

Image of 1971.304 - Hexigon Quilt Wall Hanging or Table Runner, n.d. This table runner or wall hanging is long and narrow. The top is comprised of multi-colored and pattered hexagons of various materials that include silk, satin, brocade, velvet and possibly cotton, and are also handsewn and paper-pieced.  Backing is machine quilted with dark blue satin affixed to wool batting with fan-shaped quilting.  Top is not quilted but is sewn to backing at edges.  Piece has turquoise blue binding around outer edge only seen around top sides but the hexagon material wraps over binding at top and bottom. White cotton strip (sleeve) sewn to top back for hanging.

[French]  /  [18 or 19 or No][21 or 31]"

A 1.25" inner border of pleated decoration appears 1.5" in from the edge (not including lace).  There are five pleats that make up the border. They run parallel to the edge of the cloth on each side and criss-cross at the inner corners. Lace around the edge is 2.5" wide with a pattern of diamonds and open work circles. On the back side, a 1.5" fabric panel is visible sewn all the way around the table scarf with the corners folded over diagonally and sewn flat. This edging panel has pleated decoration placed to match the central panel. The lace is sewn to this outer panel of fabric.

It has three sections with gold, green, brown, yellowish green, and blue-green tassels which are connected to the scalloped trim at the bottom of each of the sections. The design of rope braid trims are loops and curves through out with heart shaped curve in the middle of the section. There is also a missing tassel in a separate bag. Backing is stitched back to front, and looks pretty visible.
