Image of 1976.347.003 - Dazey Glass Butter Churn, c. 1922-1944. Churn has a 1922 crank mechanism (A) and wooden paddle (B) with a 1944 replacement glass jar (C).  Jar (C) is bulbous toward the bottom with four vertical recessed sections at "corners."  Between recessed "corners" are horizontal ribbed sections in the shape of trapazoids.  Wide mouth is threaded to fit Dazey 1922 steel metal mechanism (A).  Vertical crank is attached to an L shaped handle with a smooth bulbous wooden (oak) grip.  Crank is affixed between a metal unit in the shape of a "D" that sits on top of lid.  Both sides of crank unit are embossed with "DAZEY" at the top and a flower (daisy) in the center.  A piece of galvanized metal has been added to top of lid below crank mechanism.  Steel rod inserts through bottom of lid and up to tank.  At bottom of rod is affixed a wooden paddle unit with four vertical rectangular propellers.  Wooden unit is split vertically through the center and is secured with iron metal wire.

In center of one long side is a filled in circle made with a series of small holes for ventilation. About one inch below the rim of the box is a raised ridge forming the lip on which the lid rests. Lid is rectangular with rounded corners. Has a raised silver lip around the base. Smaller rectangle is debossed on top. In center of lid is a glass knob. Knob is cut glass with ten sides. Bulges at top and tapers to a narrow base. Is attached to lid with a screw which goes from top of knob through the lid.

2011.035.004 - Bread Box, c. 1930s. Metal bread box is light green and lid is dark green. Box is rectangular in shape with curved corners. Has a silver raised lip around base.
