The pattern is mirrored radiating out from the center towards the ends.  Outer edge of lace is cut and follows the edge of the border of large multi-petaled flowers.  Hand sewn selvage edge is made up of small micro loops.

Image of 1973.157.002 - Wedding Dress Bodice of Anna Mary Lewis, 1916.  Ecru-colored silk(?) outer shell is overlain with ecru-colored lace at sleeves, chest and upper back.  Lace has a floral/vine motif with horizontal scalloped edging at neck, front and back, and vertical scalloped edging on sleeves and section of sleeve that overlaps chest. Inside, beneath chest, silk is lined with white muslin.  While it is possible that the silk bodice was machine-sewn, the lace and muslin appear to have been added on by hand.

Image of 1977.167.002 - W.D. Howell Company Sadiron, c. 1830-1880.  Sadiron has a thick solid iron base (A) with a detachable wooden handle (B).  Oblong iron metal base (A) has pointed ends, rounded sides, a smooth bottom.  A lid is screwed to the top of the base with flathead screws that sit just below where handle rests.  Lid has two back-to-back, D-shaped perforations in the top center.  There is a raised border around the perforations, outside of which are embossed the words "HOWELL CO" and "GENEVA ILL."  Handle (B) is comprised of a cylindrical half-circle of wood screwed at ends into a steel metal plate that extends the length of the handle.  Bottom of plate has an opening in center with a triangular projection that points downward.  Across from first projection is another one affixed to a small wooden knob and attached to a thinner piece of metal that acts as a spring. Handle attaches by placing the first projection into one D-shaped openings of base while pulling up small wooden knob and, once secure, releasing knob so that second projection locks into place on second D-shaped opening.

Three rows of feathers on blush-colored netting, also known as tulle. The capelet has two rows of ribbon where the feather rows are attached to the tulle. The item appears to be hand-sewn. Two pieces of ribbon serve as the ties at the neck.

It is stitched with a tan brown color border around the waist of the skirt with a small hole at the end with a round brown button. Part of the waist in the front where the small hole at the end meets the round brown button is stitched and held together by small metal hooks. On the inside of the waist, towards the front, written in black and bold in pen, the text reads "3136". In the middle of the skirt, there is a golden zipper down the middle with golden teeth that mesh and engage as the zipper passes the slider. The rest of the skirt has a bottom that has a rounded straight edge.

The one on the left end of the collar has an image of Athena, goddess of wisdom, craft and war, which is the insignia for the Women's Army Corp (WAC). On the one on the right end of the collar, embossed in gold, and in bold, the text reads "U.S.". The jacket has two pockets near the top portion of the chest of the jacket with brown, small round buttons that are embossed with the symbol of a bald eagle. In the middle of the jacket, there are small holes on one end, and medium sized round buttons, shaped similar to the small round buttons on the the pockets at the top. The buttons fit nicely through the small holes on the one end. Each of the buttons are embossed with same symbol of the bald eagle. Towards the bottom front of the jacket, there are two pockets, one on each side, stitched a little bit on the outside border of the pocket. Inside the right hand pocket, printed on a white piece of cloth, the text reads "JACKETS, WAAC, MEMBERS,  /  SUMMER  /  SIZE 18R  /  GAYNES INC  /  Cont. W-669 QM 22623  /  Dated Nov. 2  1942  /  Spec. No.  Tent. Spec.  /  P.Q.D.  No. 216A  /  Dated August 29, 1942, Type 1  /  Stock No. 55-J-550-58  /  Phila M.Q. Depot  /  Inspector". The text "JACKETS, WAAC, MEMBERS"  and "Dated August 29, 1942, Type 1" are disproportionately smaller than the text above and in bold. The text "SIZE 18R  /  GAYNES INC" is disproportionately bigger than the rest of the text and is in bold. In between the text above and the word "Inspector", there is a signature in ink with two lines at the top and one line at the bottom of the signature. The jacket is stitched along the sides, front and back and on its sleeves. The jacket also has two sleeves with one of them at the top left shoulder has a blue round fabric badge with two gold wings surrounding a white star and a red circle in the middle. The blue round badge is stitched to the top left shoulder. At the bottom of the right sleeve, stitched to the sleeve, a black round badge with one "S" and one "C". The "C" is in the middle of the "S", making the two letters interlock. At the top right of the inside of the collar, printed on a white piece of cloth in black, the text reads " SIZE  / 18R". The words "18R" is disproportionately bigger than the text above.
