Some planes are parked outside the hangars and others are taxiing on the runway. Slightly left of center in the image is the Mills Field terminal, which has been converted into a general aviation terminal with several hangars. Southwest Airways, Western Air Lines, and TWA also have hangars next to the terminal. In the upper left is a United Airlines hangar. The San Bruno Mountains and the San Francisco Bay can be seen in the background.

The carousel was designed by Matthews Conveyer Company of San Carlos, CA and building alterations were made by Les Kelley of Belmont, CA. There are eight passengers waiting for their baggage as it emerges onto the carousel. There is also a uniformed baggage handler with a dolley. One man in the background is smoking a cigarette as he pulls his suitcase off the carousel. Part of a series.
