On the rug, is a brown fabric background with golden leaves on blue, green, orange and pink floral motifs which is surrounded by a bell shaped arch around it with golden dots around the inside of the arch. There are blue, and orange on the inside of the small golden flowers at the top over the arch. Backing is in black and is stitched in fabric with two black lines hand stitched around the back of the rug.

A 2" white ribbon forms a band just above brim ending in an upside-down V-shape at front of hat.  A taupe or light brown-colored ribbon is sewn to interior where brim meets crown.

One strip has seven plastic pegs down the center. The other strip has seven holes. The pegs fit in the holes. On the inside, along the bottom edge of the dome is a red strip of fabric attached with red thread. Sewn onto the fabric strip is a white fabric tag. The tag has text printed in red and blue. The tag also has two American flags printed on it. The flags are mounted on flag poles which cross in the center to form an X. The flag on the right has its stars in a circle. The flag on the left has its stars in a rectangular grid. Also on the inside, are three narrow strips of fabric covering the seams of the panels. On the outside top of the hat is a round button or plastic or metal covered in red fabric.

The other strip has seven holes. The pegs fit in the holes. On the inside, along the bottom edge of the dome is a black strip of fabric attached with black thread. Held between the seam of the black strip and red mesh is a white fabric tag. The tag has text printed in red ink and identifies it as a New Era brand hat. On the inside, three thinner strips of black fabric are sewn along the edges of the panels. Where the thin black strips meet is a round metal disk. On the outside, at the very top of the dome is a round button covered in red fabric.
