Name Nicolopulos, Sam
Notes Sam was a football/basketball star at South San Francisco High School, he served in the U.S. Army. He played baseball and football for what was then San Mateo Junior College. He was the head wrestling coach at Carlmont High School and then head football/wrestling coach at San Carlos High School. His combined Carlmont/San Carlos dual meet wrestling record was 92-22. He coached the wrestling program at Canada College. In five of his seven seasons in that post, he sent wrestlers to the state meet. During his long coaching career in San Mateo County, he influenced the lives of thousands of students [2013.025.005] After his retirement in 1993, he volunteered 14 years his time and talents as an assistant football coach at Woodside High School where his son Steve was football coach. Plaque includes image of Nicolopulos and a brief biography:  "A football/basketball star at South San Francisco High School, he served in the U.S. Army.  He played baseball and football for what was then San Mateo Junior College.  He was the head wrestling coach at Carlmont High School and then head football/wrestling coach at San Carlos High School. Silver-colored plaque is mounted under acrylic onto a laminated wooden board by four decorative brass-colored screws and washers.  Black-and-white photo of Nicolopulos is in the upper right hand corner and Hall of Fame logo is in the upper left corner.
