Scope & Content United States Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery Certificate of Appreciation to William P Kyne, circa 1941-1946. This certificate is from the United States Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. This certificate looks like a relief copy, it is on black paper and the writing and emblems are in white, it is also mounted on cardboard. The certificate is awarded to William Kyne "In grateful acknowledgement of exceptional cooperation and outstanding services rendered to the Medical Department of the Navy during the period of World War II". The emblem of the United States Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery is on the upper middle of the certificate. To the left of the emblem is a picture of a large white building that looks like a hospital. To the right of the emblem is a picture of a hospital ship sailing in the ocean, it has a green line and several large red crosses on it. The certificate also has the signature of the Surgeon General of the Navy.
