Map of Lomita Park, c. 1904. Advertising pamphlet produced by Selby, Rogers & Co. to promote the sale of lots in Lomita Park, "A new suburb of San Francisco outside the fog belt and only forty-five minutes from fifth and Market Streets." Four pages of text note the benefits of the area such as proximity to an electric railway line, availability of utilities, prohibition of the sale of alcohol, and information on terms, taxes, and title. A fold-out map surveyed in 1904 by D. Bromfield, shows subdivisions 1, 2, and 3 between County Road and San Antonio from San Juan Avenue to San Felipe Avenue. The pamphlet is printed on cream-colored paper in red and black ink. The cover is gray paper with an engraving of a cottage designed by architect Maxwell G. Bugbee on the front in red, green, and blue-gray ink. The back cover shows a red ink engraving of another house by Bugbee with the text, "Plan of House Estimated to Cost $2250." Stapled binding. |
